As described on the index page, a fanlisting is simply a list of fans of particular subject. Quoting The Fanlistings Network », where fanlistings are listed:
"A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are); they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans. The Fanlistings Network is the original (but not official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans."
There's not a lot of rules, and most of them are simple – however, I've gone into details about each rule, which is why each one is a bit long!

However, you can always use a alias for the name field if you are uncomfortable with providing your real name. The form will only allow a alphabetical, one-word name, so a last name is not needed.

The form provides a list of countries for you to choose from, and you do not need to list your city or state.
- A URL (website) field is optional.
The URL (or website) field is optional, and it is not required that you link back to the fanlisting or site. Sites such as LiveJournal, MySpace or Xanga are not technically considered your personal website, but will be accepted nonetheless.
